The feast of transfiguration day paasapaev is one of the most important religious event in the Seto community. Members of the community start the day with the Church service at the Orthodox church in Obinitsa. The service is followed by feast in the grave yard to honor the ancestors. Family members from afar gather during this ceremonial feast. During the afternoon, relatives and friends visit graves of each other’s family members to share food and memories.

As of one of the community members observed, “it is better to celebrate those memories of those who passed on, than mourning”.
